RATES AND CHARGES

§ 50.45 RATES AND CHARGES FOR USE.

   (B)   (1)   For the services provided by the Calumet Township Sewage Works System, rates and charges shall be collected from the owners of each and every lot, parcel of real estate, or building that is connected to the county’s Calumet Township Sewage Works System or otherwise discharges sanitary sewage, water, or other liquids, either directly or indirectly, in the Calumet Township Sewage Works System.

      (2)   (a)   The rate to be charged to all residential users for the Calumet Township Sewage Works System shall be $85 per EDU per month.

         (b)   The rate to be charged to all non-residential users of the Calumet Township Sewage Works System shall be $85 per EDU per month as calculated pursuant to the procedures set forth on Exhibit 1 attached to Ordinance No. 1492F and incorporated herein.

      (3)   The owners of any lot, parcel of real estate, or building connecting to the Calumet Township Sewage Works System shall, prior to being permitted to make a connection, pay a connection charge in the amount of $2,500. Said charge shall be waived for owners connecting during the initial build out of the Calumet Township Sewage Works System.

      (4)   Such rates and charges shall be prepared, billed, and collected by the county, or its designee, in the manner provided by law or ordinance.

      (5)   Said rates and charges may be billed to the tenant or tenants occupying the property served, unless otherwise requested in writing by the owner, but such billing shall in no way relieve the owner from the liability of payment in the event payment is not made as herein required. The owners of properties served, which are occupied by a tenant or tenants, shall have the right to examine the collection records of the county for the purpose of determining whether the required payment has been made by such tenant or tenants.

      (6)   All rates and charges not paid when due are declared to be delinquent, and a fee of 10% of the delinquent amount will be charged.
